MEDIA

Ceramic

ceramic.gif (22694 bytes)

Ceramic media is the heaviest media and is also the fastest finisher. Bonded of the highest quality materials available, selected aluminum oxide abrasives produce constant quality. This durable, long-lasting media is extremely versatile for deburring machined, cast, or fabricated parts.
Density – 90#/Cu. Ft.

Ceramilite

ceramilite.gif (17604 bytes)

The clean-running light media that is between ceramic and plastic bonds. Metal removal is not quite as fast on bulk or dense materials as ceramic, but measurably faster than plastic. Finishability is finer than ceramic and brighter than the standard opaque finish produced by plastic.
Density – 65#/Cu. Ft.

Plastic

plastic.gif (44716 bytes)

Formulated for very fine surface conditioning. Low R.M.S. finishes are commonly achieved. Plastic medias are widely used in the precision metal industries. Also due to fine surface finishes achieved, parts are prepared for preplate, pre-anodize, or decorative polishing. Brown, V-Cut, Cone (medium cut), Green (light cut), and White (very fine cut).
Density – 55#/Cu. Ft.

Microbrite™ Porcelain Balls

The alternative to steel or stainless steel media for final finishing and used with Raytech’s Compound D. Please note that there is a break-in period of 4-6 hours required. Mixing in the 1mm and 2mm in with larger sizes is recommended for good vibratory action. Sizes available, 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm & 6mm. Available in 5# and 15# packaging.

Dri Shine I

A nut-shell based media treated with Red Rouge. This irregular particle-size media, when allowed to run in excess of 5 hours in a vibrating tumbler, provides excellent coloring characteristics. Density – 35#/Cu. Ft.

Dri Shine III

A corn cob-based media treated with Raytech’s proprietary polishing compound performs equal to or better than Dri Shine I. Clean to use as rouge stain is eliminated. Density – 30#/Cu. Ft.

Ray-Cubes

5mm in size, untreated hardwood cubes for use in rotary tumblers or vibratory machines. Use Polish Paste I for final polish on plastics or Turbo Brite for final polish on metals. Use Raytech’s Grinding Paste I for smoothing, grinding and radiusing on plastic parts prior to final polish. Available in packaging of 15# and 30#.

Raytech Polish Paste

Liquid Compound B

A liquid flo-thru compound concentrate, uniquely formulated for all metals and plastics. As a non-foaming compound, soils that can load the media and darken parts are quickly flushed from the processing channel, resulting in faster cycle times and cleaner parts. Mix 2% dilution for flo-thru.
